france called city of fashion
There is a long history of fashion in Paris and France (starting certainly in the 17th and 18th centuries with the kings courts being very "fashion" and having a big influence on fashion all around Europe). The French fashion reached a top in the 19th century and beginning af 20th, but still is very important in the world -maybe number 1? don know. Many types of clothes were invented there.
Today, it is still a world capital of fashion (with Milano, London, New York, Tokyo), difficult to say if bigger than the others, competititon is hard! Italian people say the capital of fashion is Milano, Uk people say it London, and French people say it Paris.(but I think there are more exhibitions and/or events, and for sure there are more companies and business, see below).
Big Paris names for fashion are Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Chanel, Lancôme, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Hermes, Kenzo, Guerlain. And these are only the big names.
The big thing today is that many fashion companies are French ownned, even if giving the image of being from somewhere else (Gucci, Loewe, Acqua di Parma, Alexander McQueen, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Maybelline NY all belong to French companies, all of them based in Paris).
These are big global groups generally with a brand that looks local in each important country for fashion.
And if you look at your Calvin Klein perfume, it is made in France (or at least all the ones I had), as many others (I don really know why, maybe there a special know how in France.)相关的主题文章:
