Doctors said she survived only because she was wearing a ski helmet.
Dr Wolfgang Kratzer, an emergency doctor with the helicopter, said: “The girl was skiing down a very steep but wide slope.
Police are investigating the accident but no-one else is believed to have been involved and the conditions were clear.

The cabin on the side of the piste was not occupied at the time of the accident. It held ski equipment.
