Clan Fights / Louboutin Outlet origins of carpets
« on: November 01, 2013, 06:27:45 am »
Few other rugs are known to have survived more than 500 years. Many of those are displayed in museums around the world.  However, it isn't uncommon to find rugs over 100 years old that are still in usable condition,Louboutin Outlet, and some that, even today, are being walked on by great-great grandchildren of the original owners.
The first step in making a rug is gathering the raw materials. Traditionally most tribal rugs are made of wool  sheared from the sheep twice a year, in the spring and in the autumn. Generally the wool from the spring shearing is considered superior and is used for making most rugs, bags, and clothing. Wool from the autumn shearing or from dead animals is less fine and is used mainly for making felts or tent fabrics. In some areas, tribal weavers also use cotton. Although  is actually more stable than wool, it is less durable and often more expensive than wool, so its use is limited. Finally, a much smaller number of rugs are made using , which is typically purchased from traders who bring it from manufacturing centers far away from the tribal areas.
Some suggest Central Asian nomads were the first to create carpets so that they would not sacrifice valuable livestock simply to use their hides as floor coverings.  Opponents of this theory say that a nomad’s lifestyle was too harsh and arduous to allow time for the creative innovation required to develop a system of looping and knotting woolen threads into a pile that imitated animal pelts.  Such a fine craft, they argue,Prada Outlet, could only have developed in a prosperous, settled community.

From Citizendium,Burberry Bags, the Citizens' Compendium
The first preparation step is to clean the fibers. This is done by washing and combing (or carding)  the fibers several times. Once clean, the raw fibers are spun into threads using a weighted object called a spindle. When a twist of the raw wool or cotton is attached to the spindle and the spindle is spun and dropped, it pulls the fibers out of the bunch and winds them into a long thread. After several threads have been made, they are in turn spun together to form a yarn. Typically two or three threads will be used to form a yarn. Yarn is normally spun in the opposite direction from the threads so that the fibers will bind together more tightly.
wrote of carpets in his play, , when Clytemnestra spreads fine carpets at the feet of her husband to welcome his return.  He will not walk on them at first since that is an honor meant only for the gods.
In some cases, several different weaving techniques may be employed together to produce a rug that has a variety of textures and visual effects.
"And stepping thus upon the sea's rich dye,I pray, Let none among the gods look downWith jealous eye on me-reluctant all,To trample thus and mar a thing of price,Wasting the wealth of garments silver-worth."
Aeschylus wrote these words around 500 BC and the earliest surviving evidence of weaving is thought to date from that same time.   The  was discovered in a royal burial mound in the  of Siberia in 1949, preserved by a layer of perma-frost.  Today this rug is in the  in , Russia. The carpet is highly sophisticated, with floral,Christian Louboutin Men, geometric, and pictorial designs, indicating many generations of technique development. This legendary piece is excellent testimony to the durability of the weaver's art and it is worked in a style of knot that is still used today.
Once the yarns are spun and dyed, the weaving process begins. First a set number of yarns are stretched in close parallel rows around a wooden frame called a loom. These yarns, called warps,  determine the basic size and shape of the rug. Alternate warps are then attached to horizontal bars called heddles. When the heddles are raised and lowered, they create a space between the warps that is called the shed. Another yarn, called a weft, is attached to a weighted object, called a shuttle, and passed back and forth through the shed. Alternating which warps are raised and which are lowered produces a fabric of interlocked yarns that is called a plainweave. Sometimes each weft will be beaten down on top of the previous one to create a fabric in which only the wefts are visible. This type of fabric is called a tapestry weave (or kilim weave.) Other times the wefts will be wrapped around the warps according to a set pattern to create a more textured fabric that is known as a sumak weave (or brocade weave.) Finally, the weaver can tie extra bits of yarn to the warps between one or more rows of wefts. The extra bits of yarn,Burberry Shirts, which can be tied in either symmetric or asymmetric knots opening either to the left or to the right, stick up above the warp and weft foundation to create a pile weave.
 Footnotes

The origins of carpets and the tradition of  weaving predates written history and there is no proof of where or when the first carpets were made.  Academics and experts champion theories, but it is unlikely that the whole story of the development of this art will ever be known.
Hand-tufted and hand-hooked rugs are produced in much the same way.   A tufting gun that works much like an over size sewing needle is used to push and pull threads of yarn through a pre-woven grid foundation.   With a hooked rug, the loops of yarn are left intact to form a characteristically "knobby" pile.   In a tufted rug, the tops of loops are sheared to expose the thread ends for a softer and plusher pile.
After the yarn is spun, it is treated with a substance that allows dye to be absorbed and fixed into its fibers, most commonly alum  and iron sulfate. Once the yarn has been treated it is ready to be dyed. Traditionally the dyes used are made from natural local plants. For example, the  yields a red dye, milkweed and buckthorn produce yellow, dyer’s woad and  produce blue, while browns and blacks can be made using walnut shells or iron filings. Since the late nineteenth century, some tribal weavers have also been using factory-produced chemical dyes. Most yarn is dyed in batches. Sometimes when the dye runs out in the middle of the dyeing process, the batch is finished with another dye lot. This produces yarns with slightly different colors that, when woven together, produce a chromatic shading effect called abrash, which is greatly admired by many Western collectors.

General Discussion / Burberry Actin
« on: November 01, 2013, 06:25:15 am »
From Citizendium,Burberry, the Citizens' Compendium
Actin is typically the most abundant protein in a eukaryotic cell,Prada Bags, accounting for about 15% of the total protein in some cell types.  Actin is composed of four domains with a large cleft that almost bisects the molecule.  This cleft forms both a divalent cation and nucleotide binding site. Actin is highly conserved (the amino-acid sequence of actin from Acanthamoeba (a small soil amoeba) is 95% identical to vertebrate isoforms of actin),Burberry Bags, and it forms a huge variety of structure in cells in concert with many different actin binding proteins (there are between 60 and 100 different actin binding proteins). The ADF/cofilin group of actin-binding proteins are particularly complex in their relationship with actin,Christian Louboutin Sale, and can either stimulate polymerisation or depolymerisation, depending on the conditions (particularly pH).
Actin exists in two forms: G-actin (monomeric globular actin); and F-actin (polymeric fibrous actin), the form involved in muscle contraction.  Actin filaments are called microfilaments to distinguish them from ,Louboutin Boots
Actin is a globular  that can polymerise to form .  It is an essential element of the  of a , and is the component of the cytoskeletal system that allows movement of cells and cellular processes; actin filaments also participate in muscle contraction.

 Style guides
The CP employs two English style guides: The Canadian Press Caps and Spelling, and The Canadian Press Stylebook. Both texts are designed to ensure a uniform writing, editing, accuracy, and consistency within the Canadian news organization. Referred to as the 'bibles' of the national news industry, these two books have become widely used in other fields,Burberry Sale, such as government, colleges, and business.
By 1951, the CP's french service counterpart, La Presse Canadienne, was created. Several years later, CP began supplying national and international news to radio stations across Canada. Over the next 50 years, the CP would grow to provide news services for radio, television,UGG Boots Sale, and the Internet.
During the First World War, Canadian newspaper publishers sought to bring home news of Canuck soldiers overseas. The CP was formed to assist in providing  the Canadian public with print news of the war in Europe. In 1924, a federal grant of $50,000 paid for telegraph lines, effectively linking the nation, from East to West coast.
 How it works
 News sources
A newspaper (for example, in Toronto), covers a disaster story in its city. In return, it gets coverage from an Edmonton newspaper about a police strike there. The CP is the link between these two papers, gathering materials from its members and working to ensure the important news of the day is covered and delivered in time for deadlines.
 History
The Canadian Press (CP) is a non-profit Canadian multimedia news source. Begun in 1917, CP is dedicated to providing national and world news to Canadians, utilizing a large network of media partners. The CP relies on a satellite network to connect with newsrooms of hundreds of daily newspapers, radio,UGG Shoes, and television stations, sending and receiving news content.
The CP maintains six Canadian bureaus,Louboutin Pas Cher, located in Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton, and Vancouver. There are also CP staff correspondents based in St. John's, Fredericton, Quebec City, WInnipeg,Louboutin Boots, Regina, Calgary, Victoria, and Washington. A series of news stringers () is also maintained. The CP is the sole distributor of news from the  (AP).
The Canadian Press Stylebook also looks at Canadian guidelines of capitalization and abbreviation, as well as exploring issues of relevant to the working journalist. These include libel, court coverage, ethics, and access-to-information laws.
From Citizendium, the Citizens' Compendium
First published in 1965, The Canadian Press Caps and Spelling lists the proper capitalization, spelling, and abbreviation of words in the Canadian English language.

The song is reportedly about singer/songwriter , with whom Plant and Page were both infatuated. In live performances of the song, Plant would often say the name 'Joni' after this stanza (which is thought to have referenced Mitchell's 1967 composition 'I Had a King'):
In an interview he gave to magazine in 2002, Plant stated that the song 'might be a bit embarrassing at times lyrically, but it did sum up a period of my life when I was 22.'

Clan Recruitment / Burberry Wallet homomeric
« on: October 31, 2013, 06:34:39 am »
From Citizendium, the Citizens' Compendium
The level of connexin protein depends on transcriptional regulation and posttranslational  modification. Both mechanisms can be regulated by various intercellular messengers, such as  and others.
The screening of genomic databases has revealed 19 and 20 connexin genes in the mouse and human genome,Burberry Wallet, respectively. The structure of the connexin genes is quite conserved among vertebrates. The sequence similarities suggest that they have arisen by gene duplication. In humans,Louboutin Boots, a Cx43 pseudogene has also been identified.

Connexins are most commonly named according to their molecular weight, e.g. Cx26 is the connexin protein of 26 kDa. This can lead to confusion when connexin genes from different species are compared, because they can have different molecular weight. E.g. human Cx36 is homologous to  Cx35.

More than 20 connexin  have been found in the  and  . They usually weigh between 26 and 60 , and have an average length of 380 .
The genes for various connexins have been localized to human and mouse chromosomes. Connexin genes are found distributed in different , but there is a cluster of connexins in a region of mouse chromosome 4 and in human chromosome 1. Many connexin genes have a similar organization, and practically all have only single copies in the haploid genome. Most connexin genes contain two  and an  of variable length; some of the genes contain three exons.
Connexins are 7.5 nm long proteins, having four membrane-spanning regions with both C and N cytoplasmic termini, a cytoplasmic loop and two extracellular loops. Connexins may be identical or slightly different from one another. Connexins are assembled together in groups of six to form hemichannels, or connexons, and two hemichannels then combine to form a gap junction.
A remarkable aspect of connexins is that they have a relatively short half-life of only a few hours. [12, 13]. However, at least some of the connexins are more stable,Christian Louboutin Shoes, with half-lives of 2C3 days or more [14]. Both degradation pathways, proteasomal and lysosomal ones have been demonstrated for Cx43 in the heart.List of human connexins and their functions

The location for connexin assembly into connexons is connexin-type dependent. It appears that Cx32 assembles in the  (ER) (or ER/ intermediate place) while Cx43 assembles in the Golgi network. In cells expressing two or more connexin types, homomeric (formed by only one protein type) or heteromeric (constituted by different connexins) hemichannels can be found. Multiple Cx types expressed in the same cell can localize to the same or distinct membrane domains, suggesting the regulation of their topographic fate. Sequence motifs, responsible for the specific Cx localization, have not been identified yet. Insertion mechanism is not known as well.

Electrical transmission firstly was discovered in 1959 by Furshpan and Potter in the  giant motor  [1]. Later, this type of pathway was found in other excitable as well as non-excitable tissues. Today gap junctions are known to be present in  [2],  [3],  [4],  [5],  [6],  [7] and other tissues. In vertebrates, only a few cell types (, , and ) in their fully differentiated state do not form gap junctions. Nevertheless, the progenitors of these cells do express gap junctions [8]. Thus gap junctions and their structural proteins connexins are widely distributed across all vertebrate tissues.
Connexons are inserted into the  in a closed configuration. Formation of gap junction plaques requires clustering of connexons. Increased levels of cAMP can induce clustering of gap junction channels.

The biosynthetic studies have been most extensive for Cx43, which serves as a model for all other Cxs. Cx43 is initially synthesized as a 40- to 42-kDa polypeptide that is later posttranslationally modified, adding phosphate groups. Phosphorylation of other connexins also occur after their synthesis.

Connexins (Cx), or  , are a family of structurally related transmembrane proteins that assemble to form  gap junctions. Each gap junction is comprised of 2 hemichannels, called , which are constructed out of 6 connexin molecules. Gap junctions can transmit small regulatory and signaling molecules between . Thus they are essential for many physiological processes, such as direct synaptic transmission, heart muscle coordination, proper embryonic development and differentiation, growth control and others. For this reason, mutations in connexin-encoding genes can lead to functional and/or developmental abnormalities.

After being inserted into the plasma membrane of the cell, the hemichannels freely diffuse within the lipid bilayer. Through the aid of specific proteins, mainly , the hemichannels are able to dock with hemichannels of adjacent cells forming gap junctions.  All: The requirement to sign posts with one's real name is very important here. Otherwise, in a situation with more than one AM, it might be impossible to know which AM made a certain edit. This would break the whole idea of being accountable for one's own actions (i.e., edits).  Given that we have just one AM, this is indeed a minor concern. Anthony etc.: Maybe I'm the only one who's worked with email account administration? I'll explain what I mean in more detail, but please note that I do not think this is necessary in our current situation. Let's say sometime in the future, we have three AMs: Mr. Quick, mr. Slick, and mr. Thick. Then we would set up accounts as follows: This way,Christian Louboutin Discount, someone from outside could contact just mr. Thick (in private), or contact all AMs at once. Like I said, with our current situation of just one AM, this is not necessary. I just want to make sure I'm understood.  12:05,Louboutin Boots, 24 July 2011 (GMT) Anthony: I disagree, strongly. The AM account should not be used by anyone except the AM. Keeping track of who did what would be made near-impossible if several people started hiding behind a common account name. This account is a way for Joe to separate official work from casual contribution, nothing else. In fact, I think it's important that none of us have the passwords to that account.  14:08, 24 July 2011 (GMT) Peter: I think we basically agree --- it doesn't matter if the personal accounts are hosted at Citizendium, or at Google, Hotmail... The principle is still the same. But it's not strictly relevant to this motion anyway.  21:43, 24 July 2011 (GMT) Re Remark (2): Very well. But it should only be used in exceptional cases, and the Secretary would have to sign with his own name as well. Anonymity (for decision-makers) is the enemy of Accountability, and Transparence.  21:40, 24 July 2011 (GMT)  Hayford Peirce
approve@citizendium.org?   19:06, 23 July 2011 (GMT)
Peter: I agree with the motion, but I dislike cz_am@citizendium.org for the address. How would you feel about choosing a longer, more descriptive name like approval_manager@citizendium.org or just approvals@citizendium.org? We could also make two accounts: give Joe a personal account quick@citizendium.org and let all mail arriving at approval_manager@citizendium.org be forwarded there. That solution would be consistent with planning for two or more managers in the future (allowing private communication to an individual AM as well as general communication to them both).
 23:58, 23 July 2011 (GMT)
In order to assist the Approval Managers in their work,
Johan, I think you misunderstood why I added a remark concerning the EC secretary.Remember that, according to our motion (C.1), the EC secretary is sort of "reserve AM" in case "no AM is available". Therefore, this is not meant to cover "exceptional cases" but to provide him with the means to fulfil his duties -- as an AM.Thus mentioning him only merits a remark and not a separate number. -- 22:34, 24 July 2011 (GMT)
I have some reservations concerning the CZ User account "Approval Manager". I think a page in the CZ: namespace and its talk pagewould serve the same purpose and would be simpler: No separate login, no passwords to share, no opportunity to forget signing with a name. Instead of signing as AM and adding one's name this would need signing as usual but addint "Approval Manager".
However, I see that there are also arguments in favour fo a user AM, mainly that it automatically documents the Approval process. We can therefore try out how it works. This is an example of a technical issue -- it can easily be revised if it indeed should turn out to be impractical.
b. Since, by  C.1, the Secretary of the EC may have to act as reserve Approval Manager, he must be given access to both accounts.
@Anthony -- I agree with Johan: no one except the actual Account Manager(s) should have access to this account -- if it's an open account, then why bother to make it?  15:12, 24 July 2011 (GMT)
If things prove unwieldly, let's revisit.
From CZ_Editorial_Council  : PASSED as Decision
a. Instead of creating a new user, the existing CZ user Approvals Manager may be renamed.

Shouldn't the proposal provide access to the Approval Managers Account by members of the EC, to comment and respond to comments, make suggestions, head off impasses when possible?  If so, shouldn't the proposal include text to that effect?   19:18, 23 July 2011 (GMT)
Though I accept the motion as it is proposed, I want to explain, just for the record, why I do not like a shared "User:Approval Manager". As Johan states, it is important that the AM always adds his name. As long as there is only one AM a forgotten signature is not a problem. However, it may become a problem if more than one AM are active: Forgetting to add "Approval Manager" to an AM's signature would still remain harmless, while forgetting to add one's real name to the AM signature may cause problems.-- 15:24, 25 July 2011 (GMT)
Or perhaps structure approvals on a base of a dedicated wiki, something like the way EC gets its work done, in conjunction with the Secretary's email distribution list to EC members. Ensures a proper closed-open session balance.
The actual address of the account is not important. I chose a short one (like that of the EC) only in order to avoid repetition."approval" is in the middle between long and short ... :&,dash;).
I think a longer, descriptive title is best, but I'll forego that if necessary; honestly, let's not have stumbling blocks over the small stuff.
People might forget to sign, it's true, but they can go back and add a note (I did that - duh - sorry) when they remember.
I like Johan's idea of private emails to AM Joe Quick, forwarded from a parent approvals-email. Seems like complication might arise, though,  if we have three Approvals Managers, each with their own private email.  They have work as a group sometimes, best done with a common communication venue.
2. The Editorial Council asks the Constables to create a Citizendium user Approval Manager. The account shall be used by Approval Managers when communicating in their official capacity.
Step 1: Call for sponsors   Step 2: Discussion period   Step 3: Voting period   Accept   Reject   Abstain   Comment   Text of suggestions   Aleta Curry
++++++++++
@All -- let's not forget, while proposing that the EC Secretary also has access to this account, that the Sec. may not *want* it.  Or may not feel himself competent to make the decisions that the AM is supposed to be making. Just a thought.  22:27, 24 July 2011 (GMT)
I fully agree with using an official AM mail account but do not agree with additional accounts for individual AMs. As Anthony, I think that this would add too much complication. However, of course all AMs should have access to this mail folder(similat to the Constables mail) as well as, in addition, the Secretary of the EC.
Remarks
@Johan -- sound proposals. I myself like long addresses that precisely describe what is going on.  18:04, 22 July 2011 (GMT)
  Ro Thorpe
@Peter -- I understand your concerns but think that these are truly minor, completely theoretical problems. If they DO crop up, they can be corrected.  16:54, 25 July 2011 (GMT)
1. The Editorial Council asks the Technical Staff to set up a Citizendium email account with address approval-manager@citizendium.org and personal name Citizendium Approval Manager. This account is to be used by the Approval Managers in their official capacity, such as when contacting external referees.
We could also just say that he is to be given a mail account, "the name of which to be decided later".
  Special Resources for Approval Managers
a.  In order to to identify themselves, users of this account are required to add their name to both the standard signature and the edit summary. This applies even if there is but a single Approval Manager.b. The User page and its subpages shall identify present and past Approval Managers as well as their terms of office, and be used to document their work. The talk pages may be used to contact Approval Managers.
Anthony, there is no need for EC members (except the Secretary) to log in as AMbecause all Citizens can comment the approval process on the talk page and (if justified) on the Approval page. Moreover,Christian Louboutin boutique, there is no need for access to the mail account because it should only be used to contact potential referees, all pertinent information has to be placed on the wiki, and all discussions should take place there.(Therefore a separate wiki is not needed, either.)
I'm in favour of giving the Approvals Manager(s) the tools s/he/they need, including an account, at least on a trial basis.
Signing with one's is important even when there is only one AM: First, the Secretary of the EC may have to act as his replacement, and, second, without such a signature it would be inconvenient (or even difficult) to identify past AMs. -- 14:41, 24 July 2011 (GMT)
@Anthony -- I think that the Talk or Discussion page of the article in question (the article that is up for possible approval) is where comments by other people should be made.  If it's a *really* personal comment ("Joe Blow, the guy who is saying that he is an expert in this particular field, is actually employed by the company that the article is about and is trying to use this article as personal promotion."), then it can be made by personal email to the AM -- after all, his identity is not a secret.  15:16, 24 July 2011 (GMT)
  Johan F,Christian Louboutin Discount?rberg
 Proposed by 00:27, 21 July 2011 (GMT)
  (48 hours):   14:54, 21 July 2011 (GMT)
  (48 hours):   15:05, 23 July 2011 (GMT)
  (36 hours):   22:54, 26 July 2011 (GMT)
Important is only the actual name of the account -- Citzendium (or CZ) Approval Manager -- supplied in the From: field and displayed in the index listings.

Off Topic / Burberry Sale World Wide Web

Web technical specifications
 Origins
Since around 2000, all major web browsers have moved quickly to support additional standards, including ,  (and its Document Object Model, or DOM), and .  Use of these standards in devising web pages has led to a better usability experience for users, in which parts of web pages are updated by background programs that talk to the web server without the user having to browse further to an additional web page.  These new technologies are often called  as a comglomerate.
Many different kinds of information are now available on the Web, and for those who wish to know other societies, their cultures and peoples, it has become easier. When traveling in a foreign country or a remote town, one might be able to find some information about the place on the Web, especially if the place is in one of the developed countries. Local newspapers, government publications, and other materials are easier to access, and therefore the variety of information obtainable with the same effort may be said to have increased,Burberry Sale, for the users of the Internet.
Further advances in website design include user-generated content, social networking aspects such as user ratings or page customization, so-called "mashups" which allow data to be visualized more easily, and new ways of generating revenue such as use of a small-face, discreet, text-only advertizing column a la Google.  Such trends are frequently referred to under the all-encompassing term "Web 2.0", meaning the second version of how web pages can be created for a richer user experience.  For developers, creating "Web 2.0" pages is more complex, and the technology is still costly enough in terms of human effort that many websites cannot yet afford the implementation overhead.  But tools support for Web 2.0 design approaches continues to evolve rapidly as of 2008, and this has resulted in higher expectations for web page friendliness among users.
Because the Web is global in scale, some have suggested that it will nurture mutual understanding on a global scale.  By definition or by necessity, the Web has such a massive potential for social exchange, it has the potential to nurture empathy and symbiosis, but it also has the potential to incite belligerence on a global scale, or even to empower  and repressive regimes in ways that were historically impossible to achieve.
Unlike  and documents, hypertext does not have a linear order from beginning to end. It is not broken down into the hierarchy of chapters,Tods Outlet, sections, subsections, etc.  This allows readers to easily find more on a topic, move to other related topics, or skip sections they're uninterested in.
Websites which heavily employ so-called "Web 2.0" technology are also sometimes referred to as Rich Internet Applications, or simply RIA's.
The World Wide Web has allowed global interpersonal exchange on a scale unprecedented in human history.  People separated by vast distances, or even large amounts of time, can use the Web to exchange — or even mutually develop — their most intimate and extensive thoughts, or alternately their most casual attitudes and spirits.  Emotional experiences, political ideas, cultural customs, musical idioms,  business advice, artwork, photographs, literature, can all be shared and disseminated digitally with less individual investment than ever before in human history.  Although the existence and use of the Web relies upon material technology, which comes with its own disadvantages, its information does not use physical resources in the way that  or the  have.  Therefore, propagation of information via the Web (via the Internet, in turn) is not constrained by movement of physical volumes, or by manual or material copying of information.  And by virtue of being , the information of the Web can be searched more easily and efficiently than any library or physical volume, and vastly more quickly than a person could retrieve information about the world by way of physical travel or by way of , , , or any other communicative medium.

 Web 2.0
The fact that individuals outside  can easily publish on the Web has made the World Wide Web a disruptive influence on journalism. In order to "publish" a web page, one does not have to go through a  or other media institution, and potential readers could be found in all corners of the globe.  The increased opportunity to publish materials is certainly observable in the countless personal pages, as well as pages by families, small shops, etc., facilitated by the emergence of free  services.  It's free to post some smaller web pages, and even larger sites are inexpensive in comparison to traditional media.
From Citizendium, the Citizens' Compendium"The Web" redirects here.
 Sociological implications
The World Wide Web began an astronomical growth in popularity after the 1993 release of the graphical  by the  (NCSA) developed by . Prior to the release of Mosaic, graphics were not commonly mixed with text in web pages and its popularity was less than older protocols in use over the Internet, such as  and . Mosaic's graphical user interface allowed the Web to become by far the most popular Internet application.
Equally important with his technical expertise was Berners-Lee's vision that the Internet should remain a free service available to anyone.  The Web made its debut as a publicly available service on August 6, 1991.  On April 30, 1993,  announced that the World Wide Web would be free to anyone. This came two months after the announcement that , the older distributed document protocol, was no longer free to use.  In the intervening years, the World Wide Web has managed to survived in a low-cost form available to large numbers of people, but not without considerable social struggle to keep it so.  Multiple attempts have been made (and likely will be made again) to tax commerce performed through the Web, or to censor its content (in fact, some countries do attempt to censor information flow from the Web, with varied degrees of success).
The World Wide Web is implemented by software which adheres at least to the following three standards:
 A disruptive technology
The World Wide Web ("WWW" or simply "the Web") is a global collection of information presented in the form of documents hosted on networked  and available to the public.  The information includes text files, images, videos, sound files and many other types of information.  The documents containing information are delivered to individuals over a global computer network called the  and using a communications protocol called .  After connecting to the Internet, people can browse the Web by running a  on their local computer and using the web browser to surf (move around at will) through the vast array of available web documents.  Connecting to the Internet also enables people to use many other services which are not necessarily considered to be part of the World Wide Web, such as , instant messaging or digital telephony.
Berners-Lee devised the first web browser to fetch and display documents containing , which when clicked brought down additional documents over the Internet.  His version of , which was an area of active research at many institutions during the 1980's,Tods Handbags, was combined with an elegant and simple protocol () for using the existing Internet as transport, and the ideas took off very quickly.  The availability of HTML documents and free web browsers accelerated the growth of the Internet even more.
By 1990, an entire economy had already grown around the demand for  access, but much functionality on the Internet was not available to non-technical users. The primary author, and the person who first implemented (or organized the implementation of) the above  was  of , although several other people were also marginally involved.  The Internet had existed in some form for perhaps twenty years before this--and it had grown--but the means of sharing information over the Internet were neither available to large numbers of people,Louboutin Discount, nor friendly enough to accommodate non-technical users.  Berners-Lee's proposals allowed information to be shared easily to a non-technical audience.
Although some websites are available in multiple languages,Louboutin Outlet, many are in the local language only. Also, not all software supports all special characters, and  languages. These factors would challenge the notion that the World Wide Web will bring a unity to the world.
The Web is the most far-reaching and extensive medium of personal exchange to appear on .  It has probably allowed many of its users to interact with many more groups of people, dispersed around the planet in time and space, than is possible when limited by physical contact or even when limited by every other existing medium of communication combined.

General Discussion / Tods Shoes Sale Citizendium Blog 2009 July

Unfortunately,  and  aren’t mentioned.  I’m afraid I haven’t worked much at all on the former, because I’ve been spending almost all my time lately on the latter.  We’re up to 3,Tods Shoes Sale,600 educational videos for kids, put into a wiki-style directory.  We’re deliberately flying under the radar now,Burberry Bags, because we want to make a big first impression — launch should be early this fall.  Expect some really cool, and innovative, new software.  I don’t know if it will be “the next big thing.”  Considering how everybody’s trying to make the next big thing,Louboutin Sale, it seems unlikely.  But I do hope it will be really useful to school kids, teachers, and parents.  That’s the aim.
Yesterday I turned 41,Burberry, and I got a zillion “happy birthdays” in various locations, more than I got on my 40th birthday,Louboutin Discount, which I thought was very strange.  I finally did some poking around online and figured out why.  I was mentioned, , by Garrison Keillor, this time on “” (brief MP3).  To have your birthday marked by Garrison Keillor — and why should anybody notice anybody’s 41st birthday? — is a bizarre experience.

The term working dog is used broadly to describe a diverse group of domestic  used to perform specific tasks to assist humans in their work,UGG Boots Sale.
Working dogs that are chained,Tods Handbags, left alone,Burberry Wallet, or ignored become bored, vocal, and even ; they may exhibit malaise, lethargy, destructive behaviour or attempt to escape. Working dogs inappropriately chosen as pets are often surrendered to shelters for these reasons.
 Working dogs as pets
There is a wide range of jobs performed by dogs:
Working dogs make excellent pets as long as potential owners realize that these dogs must be given 'work' to do. Dogs that are not to be used for their original purpose must be trained from a young age and are best suited to active persons and families. ,  such as ,  and , informal or novelty shows, and  work are all excellent channels for these breeds' energy. Help / Burberry Outlet Helium Setup
« on: October 30, 2013, 08:07:26 pm »
Now, I don't care which way you chose—just choose one! Back up your device. Seriously. If you have a better way to back up your Samsung Galaxy Note 2, let us know.

This is why backing up your data is important. Trust me.
    Create a Nandroid Backup (Windows)
Back Up Your Note 2 with Kies (Windows/Mac)
hard drives crash in the United States each week, according to online backup service Mozy. Additionally,  of Americans have lost a laptop, smartphone, or tablet, and the average person now loses 1.24 devices each year—less than half of which are ever recovered.
If you want to check out more detailed instructions on how to use this Toolkit, check out fellow SoftModder 's article on , which uses the same toolkit (only specifically for the GS3).
The easiest and most common way to backup any Samsung device is through , Samsung's personal desktop software. It not only allows you to transfer music, contacts, and photos, and perform device updates, but it also works as a great and simple backup tool.
Unfortunately,Burberry Outlet, the statistics are way worse for me. My laptop is currently in the shop due to a hard drive failure,Tods Outlet, and I don't have enough hands to count the times I've had all the information wiped from my smartphone.

If your phone is rooted, a Nandroid backup is your best bet.
Note: If your Note 2 is not rooted, you'll only be able to select option 1, 2, or 3,UGG Kids, allowing you to backup your device as Kies would.
Use an Android App

Cooking warms food, and also transforms it at a chemical level. This  transformation of flavor, texture, and appearance is one of the great cultural arts, and can be achieved by applying heat by a variety of methods, and also by straight chemical reactions (, for example, is created by “cooking” fish in the acids found in citrus juice.)  Cooking affects both the nutritional properties and safety of food; improperly prepared foods may lose important nutrients or may be riddled with dangerous bacteria.   Cooking can be considered a science, as there are basic techniques that will create standard results, or an art, as many chefs—both professional and amateur—express their creativity through this medium.  Also, as techniques and ingredients vary from location to location, cooking is also a marker that echoes each individual society’s , , and .

In cooking, fats provide tastes and textures but probably the most significant attribute is the wide range of cooking temperatures that can be provided by using a fat as the principal cooking medium rather than water. Commonly used fats and oils include , , , , beef fat - both  or ,  oil or , and  oil. The inclusion of fats tend to add flavour to cooked food even though the taste of the oil on its own is often unpleasant. This fact has encouraged the popularity of high fat foods many of which are classified as junk food such as  or convenience fried cereal snacks.Fats can also be blended with cereal flours to make a range of  and .  made with heated fat and  can also absorb large volumes of -based liquids, including   and water itself to form smooth . For a comprehensive list of cooking techniques click .Heat is the primary form of energy used to cook foods.  When something gets hot, its molecules absorb the heat energy causing them to vibrate rapidly.  This causes them to expand and bounce off of each other causing the heat energy to transfer.  As the molecules move faster, the temperature gets higher.  Heat based cooking techniques transfer energy to foods using , , or .  Once the heat reaches the food, it continues through the food using conduction.
Radiation differs from conduction and convection, in that it does not require physical contact to transfer heat.  Instead it is transferred by waves of heat or light hitting the food.  There are two forms of radiation used in cooking - infrared and microwave.  Infrared radiation occurs when a heating element is heated to a very high temperature, sending out waves of heat to cook the food.   and  are two pieces of equipment that use this method.  Microwaving occurs in a special oven called a .  Microwaving is a very fast cooking method due to the deep penetration of heat.

  Science of cooking
Conduction refers to the transfer of heat from one object to another through direct contact.  For example, when the heat from a stove top burner touches the bottom of a frying pan, that heat is transferred to the pan.  In turn, the heat is then transferred from the metal of the pan to surface of the food resting in the pan.  Different materials make better conductors,  and  being the best.  Conduction is a relatively slow method of heat transfer because of the need for physical contact.
The application of scientific knowledge to cooking and gastronomy has become known as . This is a subdiscipline of . Important contributions have been made by scientists, chefs and authors such as  (chemist),  (physicist),  (physicist),Christian Louboutin Discount,  (author),  (biochemist, author),  (chef),  (chef) and  (chef). Food science has also been brought to the mainstream by popular television chef  in his show , in which Brown discusses the scientific reasons why different techniques or ingredients beget various results (such as why the molecules in  create a softer chewier cookie while using  in the same recipe will create a crisper, firmer one.)

Health is given as the reason to follow such a diet, but eating,Louboutin Pas Cher, for example, raw potatoes, is not necessarily such a healthy exercise. Potatoes are members of the Solanacae family, plants which contain potentially toxic alkaloids called solanine. Cooking a potato destroys the solanine, eating raw potatoes puts it into your body.
The earliest type of cooking was , directly in a . There is archaeological evidence of roasted foodstuffs, both  and , in human () campsites dating from the first known use of fire some 800,000 years ago. Many important cookery techniques require  of  in a fire-proof pot, a practice that dates back at least since the 10th millennium BC with the introduction of .
Heat that is transferred through a liquid is called convection.  Convection occurs when heat is transferred through a medium to a liquid via conduction, causing the molecules of the liquid to move from a warmer location to a cooler one.  There are two types of convection - natural and mechanical.  Natural convection refers to the circulation of heat caused by the tendency for warm liquids to rise and cooler liquids to fall.  When a pot of water is placed on a burner, the molecules on the bottom of the pot are warmed first, causing them to rise to the top.  They are replaced by the cooler molecules at the top of the pot, which are then warmed and repeats the cycle, transferring the heat throughout the pot.  Mechanical convection uses a fan or stirring to circulate the heat more quickly.
Heat can kill or inactivate organisms including  and . Whether or not heating actually does this depends on just how high the temperature of the food becomes, and how long it is heated. Techniques also come into play.
The temperature range from 4°C to 57°C (41°F to 135°F) is the "food danger zone." Between these temperatures bacteria can grow rapidly. Under the correct conditions bacteria can double in number every twenty minutes. The food may not appear any different or spoiled but can be harmful to anyone who eats it. , ,  products, and other prepared food must be kept outside of the "food danger zone" to remain safe to eat.  and freezing do not kill bacteria, but only slow their growth.
Much edible animal material is made of , including , , and . Nutritionally, these animal products offer all the essential amino acids needed in our diet. Almost all  matter also includes proteins (although generally in smaller amounts). Vegetables are also  a source of , but generally must be eaten in combination to provide the full range of essential amino acids. When  are heated to near boiling point they become de-natured and change texture. In many cases this causes the structure of the material to become softer or more friable - meat becomes cooked. In some cases proteins can  form more rigid structures such as the production of stable foams using egg whites. These are believed to be formed through the partial unraveling of the  protein molecules in response to beating with a whisk. The formation of a relatively rigid but flexible matrix from egg white provides an important component of much  cookery and also underpins many desserts based on .
With the application of heat, foods can experience changes in their shape, texture, color, and flavor.   each react differently to heat.  When temperatures reach between 160? and 185?F, proteins begin to lose their moisture content and solidify in a process called .  For example, when an  is added to a hot frying pan, you can see it change from a clear liquid into a solid white.  , which are complex , undergo the process of .  Gelatinization refers to the absorption of water that leads to swelling and softening, such as when  is cooked.  Gelatinization occurs over a broader range of temperatures than coagulation, between 150?-212?F. Simple carbohydrates called  undergo a process called , or browning, at very high temperatures.  Caramelization is responsible for many of the flavors we experience, an integral processes in cooking meats, vegetables, breads, sauces, and desserts.
